Family medicine
A family doctor in Garland who explains what's wrong.
You'll see a doctor, get examined, and leave knowing what's wrong and what it costs. Not one of those visits where you nod along and find out the price afterwards.
01Scope
What we treat without sending you elsewhere
What has been going on for weeks, and what started last night. If you need a specialist we say so and refer you; we don't make you come back three times to find that out.
- Acute and chronic illness
- Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Electrocardiogram
- Thyroid, cholesterol and lungs
- Anemia
- Asthma and allergies
- Common skin conditions
- STDs and sexual health
- Obesity and weight management
- Basic gastroenterology
02Clear pricing
What it costs said before, not after
$30The visit, with no insurance.
- Included
- Seeing the doctor and being examined.
- Not included
- Lab work, testing and procedures. Each has its own price and you hear it first.
- With insurance
- Whatever your plan says. We check your card before you go in, not after.
If the doctor recommends a test, you decide. Nothing gets run before you've agreed to it.
03Step by step
How the visit goes start to finish
- You arriveAppointment or walk-in, both work here. Walk-ins are seen in the order they arrive.
- You see the doctorYou get examined and asked about it. If something isn't clear, it gets explained again, in English or Spanish, whichever you'd rather.
- If you need a test, you hear why and what it costsBefore it happens. And if you don't need one, you hear that too.
- You leave knowing what's wrongIf results are still pending, you leave knowing which day they land and who calls you.
04Sexual health
STD testing in the same visit
We test here, in the same visit, with the same doctor who sees you for anything else. No separate clinic, no separate trip, and nothing on your file that says why you came.
If cost is the barrier, there is free testing in Dallas County and we'll tell you where.
And if you'd rather be seen today, in Spanish, without an appointment, that's what we do.
05Coverage
Insured or not either way
These are the insurers we work with. Bring your card and we check it before you see the doctor, not after.
And if you have no insurance, you're still seen here. The visit is $30, and you know what anything else costs before it happens.
There are free clinics in Dallas County for uninsured patients, and the income limit to qualify is higher than most people assume. If you think you might qualify, we'll tell you which ones. We'd rather that than you going nowhere.

06Questions
Common questions actually answered
- Is it better to go to primary care or urgent care?
- Urgent care is built for one problem, once: a cut, a fever, a sprain. Primary care is for the thing that keeps coming back, and for the person who remembers you had it last time. If you're bleeding, choking or having chest pain, that's an emergency room, not either of us. For almost everything else, a family doctor costs less and knows more about you.
- Where can I get tested for STDs in Garland, Texas?
- Right here, in the same visit and with the same doctor. If cost is the barrier, there is free testing in Dallas County and we'll tell you where to ask for it.
- How much is a primary care visit without insurance in Texas?
- Here it's $30 to see the doctor and be examined. Lab work, testing or a procedure are priced separately, and you hear each price before it happens. Across Texas the range is wider and most clinics won't publish it, which is the actual answer to your question: you usually can't find out until afterwards. That is why ours is on this page.
- Is there a Parkland Clinic in Garland, Texas?
- Yes. Parkland runs two health centres in Garland, a general one and a paediatric one, and for a lot of families they're the right choice. We're the other option: open until 9 PM Monday to Saturday and Sundays too, walk in or book, and the same doctor sees you in Spanish or English.

Amazing place and exceptional care. The doctors, nurses, and really the entire staff cares about patients and will do everything they can to help you, without trying invasive procedures first. They don’t take insurance but their charges are more than reasonable. I don’t have one bad thing to say and will definitely come back here for all my future doctor appointments. Thank you!
