Cookie policy
Which cookies we use, who sets them and how to keep them out. It comes down to two measurement tools, the map, and a switch that turns the first two off.
Last updated:
Which cookies there are, and what for
None of them is needed for the site to work. Language, for instance, is not held in a cookie: it is in the address, with the Spanish version at the root and the English one under /en/. The ones there are are for measurement, and there are two:
Microsoft Clarity, to see how the page gets used: what gets clicked, how far down people scroll, where they get stuck. It stores its own cookies and records the browsing session.
Google Analytics 4, to know how many people arrive, where they come from and which sections they read. It stores its own cookies and sends that data to Google.
Neither is used for advertising and neither follows you around other websites, and there are no social media pixels.
How to switch measurement off
The first time you arrive we say so in a bar at the bottom of the page, with a button that switches it off right there. If you do nothing, measurement keeps running: this is a notice and not a request for permission, and we would rather tell you plainly than pretend otherwise.
From then on, the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer reopens that same panel whenever you want, to switch it off or turn it back on. Switching it off stops us loading Clarity and Google Analytics and clears their cookies from this browser there and then, without waiting for a reload.
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, there is nothing for you to do: we honour it and neither tool loads. That is the signal Texas privacy law recognises, and we honour the older "Do Not Track" as well.
Your choice is kept in this browser local storage, under the name lgf.medicion. It is not a cookie, it never travels to any server, and it does nothing beyond sparing you the question a second time. It expires after a year, and clearing the site data clears it too.
The map in the contact section
In the contact section we embed a Google Maps frame so you can see where we are. That frame is served by Google and may set cookies of its own, over which we have no control.
Two details that matter: the map loads lazily, so if you never scroll down to the contact section it never loads and never sets anything. And it is served with a trimmed referrer, to give Google the minimum.
If you would rather avoid it altogether, do not scroll to the map, or block third-party cookies in your browser. The address is written right next to it, in plain text.
Other third parties, these without cookies
The typefaces on this site come from Google Fonts. When they download, Google receives your IP address, but no cookies are set along that path.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which sits in front of every request as any host does and keeps technical logs for security. It sets no tracking cookies on this site.
How to block cookies anyway
Every browser lets you block third-party cookies or clear them. It is in settings, under privacy: in Chrome and Edge under "Cookies and other site data", in Firefox under "Enhanced Tracking Protection", and in Safari under "Privacy".
Blocking them breaks nothing on this site: the measurement stops counting you and, at most, the map stops showing. Everything else — the services, the hours, the appointment form — works the same.
Changes
If we add another tool that sets cookies, we will say so here and update the revision date before switching it on. The notice will also come back even if you had already dismissed it: what you decided about these two tools is not a decision about a third one you never saw.
